We go through our lives making our marks in so many ways. Here, with brush and ink, how we manifest in the world can be seen directly. We appreciate our minds - and our lives - when we make a true stroke of the moment.
OPEN EYES / MOVING IN SPACE :
A Contemplative Arts Retreat
with Arawana Hayashi and Barbara Bash
For more information: firstname.lastname@example.org
This retreat offers an opportunity to connect more deeply with one's creativity in a meditative environment, within a supportive community of like-minded makers of things, and in dialogue with the magic and power of nature.
Each day after a morning meditation and movement session, we will move into individual art time, working alone on art or writing projects. There is limited space for dance and theatre, but some solo projects can be accommodated. In the afternoon Barbara and Arawana will facilitate explorations based on their shared interest in ancient Chinese and Japanese multi-disciplinary art forms responding to the natural world through mark making, movement and poetry. Solo time and space will be supported and there will also be time for people to share their work and engage in conversation.
This will be a special opportunity to step away from the speed of technology and move towards deepening connection with one's generative creative process. It can be a time to enrich new or ongoing projects or make a deeper connection to a personal art practice.
