As we follow the path of meditation, subtle aggression toward ourselves and others can go unnoticed. Notions of what it means to be a "good person" can take hold and impede our ability to communicate with each together. Using the tools of Nonviolent Communication, we learn to speak in a way others can hear. This training invites a fresh view of relationships to emerge. Come join us in this conversation and exploration!
Nonviolent Communication is a highly acclaimed and effective framework for communication based on the idea that all human beings have the capacity for compassion and only resort to harmful behavior when they don't recognize more effective strategies for meeting needs. NVC proposes that if people can identify their own needs, the needs of others, and the feelings that surround these needs, harmony can always be achieved. Skills learned through NVC include expression, empathy, self-empathy, making requests, dialogue, connecting to feelings and needs on deeper levels.
